Hitchhike

Austin — Do this now. Rest your effort into the ground and listen. What are the prominent tones. What emerges from the sonic background to capture your attention today. Raise your thumb and catch this ride. Just tune in and you’re off.

For me its a small plane above the park, husky treble purr, early morning, oak-filtered light, squirrels still exulting in their nighttime free reign, just now remembering dogs.

When the plane is just overhead its tone is magnetic and I match, staying there even as it slides lower in doppler distance. I ride this tone and play around it for a while until I find another good ride.

No need to invent; we can hop from one offered tone to the next, easy rides for the next leg.
