Beyond PG

My mind shows itself as a PG rater, not so strict that it screens just for family audiences but also not permitting the too violent or racy or dark. It looks for the original but tries to block the dark animal.

Bottletone

I stop to take a sip of tea from a bottle and hear a thickly resonant tone inside the bottle when I do. I play with this for the rest of the session.

These Blues

I don’t want to do my practice and I’m deeply committed to doing it every single day, so there’s nothing else to do but sing the blues.

Workzone

Revealing

Christmas Full

Inside this clapboard house a lamp lights the living room in a certain orange, the classical New England tone of haven. I sing to this familiar image of coziness for a while, to family.

Arrival

There is a distinct moment in this practice session when something rises in me, like a good mood. It’s a groove that feels organic and original, like a reanimation of me after the transport of my tissue and bone across a thousand miles.
